Google Blog SearchがTechnoratiを抜く

年末にGoogle Blog SearchがTechnoratiを抜いていたようだ。

Google Blog Search Surpasses Technorati:
This week Hitwise data show that the market share of visits to Google Blog Search surpassed visits to Technorati for the week ending 12/23/06.

理由は2つ挙げられている。

• 10月下旬に、Google NewsページにBlog searchリンクを置いた
• Web検索の「more」で表示されるドロップダウンメニューにBlog searchリンクを置いた

いずれも英語版の話で、日本版Googleには上記のリンクはない。来訪者の分析では、ティーンエージャー層では圧倒的にGoogle Blog Searchが強い、と述べられている。

たった２つのことだけなのだが、引用先のグラフ見るとわかるように、わずか2週間であのTechnoratiに一気に追いつき追い越したのがすごい。彼らは新しいサービスを宣伝しなくても、GoogleのWeb検索ページとGoogle Newsページに少し細工をするだけで、ユーザーを新しいサービスに呼び込めると理解したのだ。これって、The Matrixの道場でのシーンを思い出す。
