Many were reasonably cautious about this concept when Ajax first burst onto the scene, but several readers have recently submitted stories suggesting there’s now a greater acceptance of Ajax for more delicate application domains. We thought we might share some of the reports with you today.
空港の物流システム向けに、ちょっとしたアップグレードのせいでCD-ROMを27の管制塔にばら撒くのは時代遅れだから、Firefox化してGoogle MapsとMash-Upする。何人かはGreasemonkeyスクリプトで機能拡張することに興味を示しているし、もうSafariにしちゃうぞ～、とか、心臓ペースメーカーにLinuxOS載せて、モバイルAjaxを搭載したスマートフォンでコントロールするとか、デンマークの船会社が完全リモートコントロールの旅客周遊船を造船中で、今までは「船がどっち向いているかを判断するのにページのリフレッシュが邪魔」だったけど、XMLHttpRequestで船長のユーザー・エクスペリエンスも向上するとか。うーむ。そういう時代が来るかもしれないが、ブラックな香りがたまりませんな。
他には、YahooのAll Your Web 2.0 Are Belong To Us（YahooがWeb2.0企業を全部買い取った）とか、Google Earthのエリア51米軍基地で宇宙人がバーベキューしてるネタとか、ですかねー。
ホワイトハウスに犬がいる話もあったが、今は消されてしまったようだ。

時間が経つにつれ、いろいろ出てくるな。China buys Google | The Registerなんていうのもある。こんなもん誰が聞いても嘘だとわかるって。マイクロソフトのテクニカル・エバンジェリストRobert ScobleもAnnouncement, I’m going to Googleだそうだ。イマイチ。
